According to the update from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the losses of Russian occupiers increased as of the morning of May 8, 2025.
Russian losses in the war as of May 8, 2025
Russia has lost the following in the war with Ukraine as of May 8:
- personnel - about 961970 (+1200) people,
- tanks - 10782 (+2) units,
- combat armored vehicles - 22429 (+10) units,
- artillery systems - 27552 (+50) units,
- MLRS - 1379 (+1) units,
- anti-aircraft systems - 1156 (+1) units,
- airplanes - 372 (+0) units,
- helicopters - 335 (+0) units,
- operational-tactical UAVs - 35407 (+141),
- cruise missiles - 3197 (+0),
- ships / boats - 28 (+0) units,
- submarines - 1 (+0) unit,
- automotive and fuel tanker vehicles - 47604 (+120) units,
- special equipment - 3875 (+2).
Activity of the occupiers' fleet as of May 9
- There are no enemy ships in the Black Sea;
- No enemy ships are present in the Sea of Azov;
- In the Mediterranean Sea, three enemy ships have been recorded, one of which is known to be a carrier of Caliber cruise missiles with the capacity for up to eight missiles in total salvo.
During the day, in the interests of the Russian Federation, the following passed through the Kerch Strait:
- to the Black Sea - two vessels, one of which continued moving towards the Bosporus Strait;
- to the Sea of Azov - seven vessels, of which two also continued their way towards the Bosporus Strait.
We remind you that we are in the 1170th day of a full-scale war on the territory of Ukraine.
Updated data on losses and activity of the occupiers' fleet confirm the need for further control and attention to the situation in the east of the country.
