'Russia's demands are unacceptable': Ukrainian representatives summarize the results of the Istanbul negotiations.

Ukraine is ready for a ceasefire with Russia
Ukraine hopes to engage China and Brazil as mediators to achieve a lasting ceasefire with Russia and is prepared for a ceasefire lasting from 30 to 90 days, said the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Georgiy Tikhy, after the negotiations in Istanbul.
'China and Brazil can use their influence on Russia to convince it of the necessity for a complete and long-term ceasefire, rather than a temporary one or one for the holidays,' Tikhy noted. 'We are ready for any duration of the ceasefire - 30, 60, or 90 days.'
According to the diplomat, the Russian delegation presented unacceptable conditions for Ukraine, but the Ukrainian side 'calmly accepted the Russians' position while firmly maintaining its own stance.'
Deputy Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate Vadim Skibitsky confirmed that starting today, the process of prisoner exchanges will begin with the formula '1000 for 1000', adding that the Ukrainian side will do everything possible to bring every Ukrainian back home.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky had a phone conversation with US President Donald Trump and leaders of France, Germany, Great Britain, and Poland. He emphasized that 'if the Russians refuse a complete and unconditional ceasefire and killings, strong sanctions must be imposed.'
Zelensky also highlighted Ukraine's readiness for 'maximum swift actions for the sake of real peace' and the importance of maintaining international pressure on Russia 'until it is ready to end the war.'
After the negotiations, the Russian delegation demanded the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from four 'annexed' regions and threatened to occupy Kharkiv and Sumy regions. This indicates the tension of the situation and the difficulties in the negotiation process between Ukraine and Russia.
