The Odesa TCC commented on the detention of Andrii Kolomiyets.


The Crimean Human Rights Group reported that
Andrii Kolomiyetswas taken to the territorial center for recruitment in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi. It turned out that the Euromaidan activist, who spent 10 years in Russian prisons, was summoned to update his information after returning to Ukraine.

The Odesa TCC and SP officially explained the situation: Kolomiyets was invited to the district center for verification of personal data in the electronic database.
'There was no pressure or coercion exerted on him. The person came voluntarily, and all procedures were conducted legally. After that, he calmly continued on his way', the agency's comment states.
The TCC also emphasized that Kolomiyets, as a former prisoner who suffered from political persecution, has the right to deferment from mobilization. He can only be called up with his own consent.
It should be noted that Andrii Kolomiyets was detained back in 2015 in Russia and convicted for participating in the Maidan. Human rights defenders called his case political. He spent all this Time behind bars until he was included in the exchange list and returned home on July 11.
