The Guardian explained why Biden's strategy regarding the war in Ukraine failed.

The strategy of US President Joe Biden, which he chose at the beginning of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, has failed.

According to him, at the beginning of the war in Ukraine, Biden chose a strategy of containment. In his speech in Poland, he called for providing assistance and weakening the Russian economy. But, notes Simon Tisdall, after more than 30 months of war, it is clear that this strategy does not work.

According to him, the war has not spread to NATO territory, but the countries bordering Ukraine have suffered from Russian attacks.

Like an untreated cancer, the Ukrainian crisis (Russia's war against Ukraine, – ed.) produces uncontrollable metastases. Not limited to the mud and ice of Donbas, the toxic fallout of the war that spreads becomes more destructive globally with each passing day. According to him, the war contributes to the growth of right-left political extremism and support for paid populist apologists of Russian dictator Putin. He also points out that hybrid warfare is increasingly gaining scale worldwide as authoritarian regimes emulate Russia.

He also notes that due to the inability to contain the war in Ukraine, "seismic geopolitical shifts" are being observed and the partnership between China and Russia is being strengthened.

Putin envisions a global anti-Western alliance, a new world order of the 21st century, created post-America and led by China. These are not idle dreams – notes Tisdall.

The war also leads to a great human tragedy and economic damage. Western support is gradually weakening, while Ukraine cannot win this war. The article notes that much of what happened could have been prevented or at least partially prevented.
