The TCC responded whether the mobilization of men aged 50-60 is prohibited in Ukraine.

Recently, the media reported on the mobilization of older men. Allegedly, they can be taken into service exclusively by a separate mobilization order.
This was reported by "Glavred".
According to Serhii Monukalo, head of the mobilization-defense work sector of the Sumy regional TCC and SP, there is no direct prohibition in Ukraine on the mobilization of military-aged men from 50 to 60 years old.
Monukalo emphasized that the mobilization procedure for this age category is "absolutely transparent." Men of this age are conscripted with the written consent of military units based on a separate mobilization order. They are sent to units that do not impose special requirements on conscripts.
It is worth noting that men aged 50 to 60 will not be sent to assault units. Instead, they are planned to be involved in service in support units or in the State Special Transport Service (SSTS). Before being drafted, candidates must undergo a military-medical commission to determine suitability for service.
The selection process includes the work of recruiters from relevant military units who conduct interviews with candidates at territorial recruitment centers. After the interview, candidates receive a referral to a specific military unit with an indication of their military specialty.
Monukalo also reported that the conscription lists are approved by the General Staff. The mobilization order specifies specific surnames to ensure that a person is confident they will not be sent to another unit or another specialty.
Earlier, Fedir Venislavsky, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, reported that there is a directive in Ukraine that allows men aged 50 to 60 to be involved in the Defense Forces only by a separate mobilization order.
