Mass drone attack on occupied Crimea
The temporarily occupied Crimea has suffered a mass attack by unidentified flying objects. Explosions were heard in various areas of the peninsula, and Russian air defense systems were activated. This was reported by
Glavkomciting local Telegram channels.
At about 21:30 Kyiv Time, the so-called 'governor' of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhayev, announced the introduction of an air alert regime in Crimea. Immediately after this, a number of monitoring sources reported a large-scale missile attack. In particular, missiles were spotted flying over Sevastopol, Alupka, Sudak, and Feodosia.
Due to the threat, the occupation authorities suspended maritime transportation and closed the Crimean Bridge. The Russian side claims that strikes were inflicted on Crimea with 'Neptune' type missiles, which were allegedly successfully intercepted.
Furthermore, it became known about the rise of a Russian fighter from the airfield 'Saki' in the area of Novofedorivka.
We remind you that on the night of May 6, a mass drone attack was recorded on the territory of Russia. According to 'Glavkom' citing Russian media, drones allegedly attacked several regions simultaneously, including the capital.
Residents of the Lipetsk region reported active operation of air defense. Meanwhile, a 'red level' of danger was announced in the Ryazan, Tambov, and Tula regions. According to monitoring resources, the threat of drone attacks was also present in the Astrakhan, Nizhny Novgorod, Tver, and Smolensk regions. The main target, according to the Russian side, was Moscow and its suburbs.
By the way, on the night of April 30, drones attacked the Russian Federation, resulting in restrictions being imposed at three airports. In the city of Murom, a large fire broke out after the drone strikes.
Local residents reported that a factory was attacked in the Verbozhsky district of Murom. This area, in particular, houses the Murom Instrument Engineering Plant, also known as 'the powder plant'. The enterprise produces pyrotechnic devices, firefighting means, and capsule detonators. The plant specializes in the production of initiation and ignition means for ammunition for all types of troops, as well as for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, FSB, and other law enforcement agencies of the Russian Federation.
Drone Threats: Security Demands and Technology Development
The events of recent days demonstrate how relevant the issue of protection against drones and other unmanned aerial vehicles has become. Locations in various countries are constantly becoming the target of attacks, which requires tightening security measures and developing new technologies for detecting and protecting against potential threats.
