The U.S. National Security Advisor Mike Waltz commented on the possibility of lifting sanctions against Russia.
(Negotiations, – ed.) were indeed quite broad, focusing on the goals of our broader relations, but very clear that hostilities must stop in order to achieve any of these bright goals,' he said.
Waltz noted that as a first step, measures that make sense will be taken, including restoring full functionality of the diplomatic representations of both countries.
'As a first step, we will simply do some things that make sense, such as restoring our embassies’ ability to function. And again, you know this is common sense in the world of foreign policy. It's called 'shuttle diplomacy.' We need to talk to both sides to bring them to the negotiating table, and both sides have said that only President Trump can do this,' the Trump advisor clarified.
At the same Time, Waltz did not clearly answer the question about stopping arms supplies to Ukraine, but stated that U.S. arsenals are depleting.
