Quick and Fierce Fast and Furious. Let’s Remember Vladyslav Tahayev.

Every day at 9 a.m., Ukrainians honor the memory of all those whose lives were taken by the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today, we remember Vladyslav Tahayev.

Vladyslav Tahayev, call sign Fast and Furious, a stormtrooper of the special forces unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine 'Artan', was killed in battle on September 5, 2024, at the age of 22. This was reported by 'Glavkom', referencing the Sports Committee of Ukraine and the special forces unit GUR MO of Ukraine 'Artan'.

Vladyslav was born on July 18, 2022, in Nizhyn, Chernihiv region. He was the only son to his mother. From an early age, he knew what strength, endurance, and character meant. His world in peaceful life was sports, the arena of competitions, hard training, and medals.

Quote from the sports committee: «Vladyslav mastered combat sambo, boxing, kickboxing, muay thai, pankration, khorting, even Cossack dueling. A multiple prizewinner and champion of competitions, he did not stop at anything because he knew: there are no limits».

At 21, Vlad made a decision that changed everything: he went to defend his homeland, joining the ranks of the 'Artan' special forces.

Quote from comrades-in-arms: «Mom, I can’t sit and wait for the enemy to come to our house», he said. He participated in the toughest operations – Kupiansk, Chasiv Yar, Lyptsi, Sumshchyna, deep behind enemy lines.

His courage, cool mind, and quick reactions saved the lives of his comrades. He detected minefields, provided medical assistance under heavy fire, and evacuated groups from under fire. Comrades recall: «He didn’t need to be asked. On the contrary – we had to hold him back».

On September 5, 2024, during an operation in Kharkiv region, Vlad was killed. His group successfully completed the mission, liberating 400 hectares of Ukrainian land. They were waiting for evacuation when the enemy struck them with artillery fire, mortars, and drones. A fragment of a 120-mm shell took his life...

On September 18, Nizhyn bid farewell to its hero. In the Cathedral of All Saints, those who loved, knew, and would remember Vladyslav forever gathered.

On the website of the President of Ukraine, a petition has been posted for posthumously awarding Vladyslav Tahayev the title of Hero of Ukraine.

At the initiative of the GUR MO of Ukraine 'Artan', a documentary film 'Fast and Furious': quick and fierce. The story of a warrior, dedicated to Vlad Tahayev, was created, which gathered memories of his comrades. Because his story will live on – in hearts, in memories, in every free patch of land for which he gave his life.

«Glavkom» joins in a moment of silence. We honor the memory of all Ukrainians who died in the struggle for their homeland. We remember those who were killed by Russian aggressors, lighting candles of remembrance and bowing our heads in mourning during a national moment of silence, honoring the bright memory of Ukrainian citizens who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the state: all military personnel, civilians, and children, all those who perished in the fight against Russian occupiers and as a result of the attack of hostile troops on Ukrainian cities and villages.
