Sadovyi announced the operation of several airports in Ukraine this year.

Ukraine plans to open several airports
Ukraine intends to restore the operation of several airports this year, said Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi.
According to him, there are necessary technical and other possibilities for this. Sadovyi did not specify which airports.
“Definitely, several airports will start operating in Ukraine this year. There are technical and other possibilities. A political decision should be made. Probably, it will be,” said Sadovyi.
The Mayor of Lviv recalled the example of Israel, where Tel Aviv airport continued to operate even during wartime.
“This was a personal responsibility. We were lucky that no plane was harmed. All planes of the Israeli airline have special equipment under the wings that is used in case of an attack threat and other situations. Such experience has already been global. We have no other way out – we need to survive and live in wartime conditions,” he added.
Earlier, it was reported that Lviv International Airport is considering the possibility of remaining open for civilian aviation even when martial law is introduced, ensuring the necessary level of security for aircraft, passengers, and infrastructure.
It is also noted that more than 1300 aviation specialists from various services have enhanced their professional level through certified programs of the State Aviation Service. 30% of airport personnel consist of specialists who worked there even before the war began.
