Russian pensioners left in Europe without money.

Pensioners from the Russian Federation in the Baltics have not yet received good news
Russian pensioners living in the Baltic countries are facing a problem - they have not received their payments from Russia for a long Time. The blockage of international transfers by Western financial institutions puts elderly people in a difficult position. Pensioners are forced to seek help from charitable organizations.
The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, blamed Western financial institutions for this situation. In particular, the Swedish bank Swedbank refused to make payments from Russian banks due to sanctions. Zakharova emphasized that the full responsibility lies with Western financial institutions.
A complicated situation for Baltic pensioners
Among approximately 20,000 recipients of Russian pensions in the Baltics, a payment crisis occurred, which began back in 2024. Payments were regularly delayed, and then stopped. The situation is especially difficult for pensioners in the city of Daugavpils, where no compensation has been received so far. The Russian embassy in Latvia explained that the delays are related to European sanctions, which complicate financial operations.
Olympic champion and member of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Irina Rodnina shared her impression of the pension system in Russia, stating that she doesn't even want to try living on a pension.
