Prosecutors demand one and a half years in prison for Depardieu in harassment case.


The French prosecutor is seeking 18 months of probationary imprisonment and a fine of 20,000 euros for actor Gérard Depardieu. He is accused of indecent acts towards two colleagues on the set of the film 'Green Shutters' from 2021. The prosecutor is also requesting that the actor undergo psychological treatment and be placed on the sex offender registry (link). All testimonies were presented during the court hearings that took place on March 27 (link).
Two women, a director's assistant and a set designer, testified that the actor approached them and touched their intimate body parts without their consent (link). In February 2024, the decorator and the director's assistant reported sexual violence, sexual acts, and sexist insults committed by the actor during the filming. Witnesses also reported that Depardieu kissed women and grabbed them by the breasts on the set (link).
On October 28, 2024, the court session was postponed due to the actor's health issues (link).
