Earthquake in China: over 500 aftershocks
Seismologists recorded more than 515 aftershocks following a 6.8 magnitude earthquake in Tibet. According to China Central Television, most aftershocks had a magnitude of less than 3.0.
The consequences of the earthquake in Tibet led to a catastrophe. 126 people died, 188 were injured, and more than 3600 homes were damaged.
It is noted that the epicenter of the earthquake was located near the border with Nepal, about 80 km north of Mount Everest.
Thanks to rescue operations, more than 400 people were rescued, and over 30,000 individuals were evacuated.
We remind that today, on the night of January 7, an earthquake of 7.1 magnitude on the Richter scale occurred.
