It Seems Ukraine Has Lost the War to the USA: WP on the New Mineral Agreement.

The United States has proposed a new agreement to Ukraine regarding mineral resources, which differs from previous agreements and does not contain security guarantees. A representative of Ukraine describes this agreement as if Ukraine has lost the war with the USA. Under this agreement, US aid is transformed into debt, the US gets priority investment rights, Ukraine is required to pay 50% of revenues, and there are no security guarantees for Ukraine.
President Zelensky stated that he received a new proposal from Washington and will personally consider it after confirmation from lawyers. Ukraine will not agree to a deal that may harm its plans to join the European Union.
The approval of the agreement is unlikely due to the reaction of Ukrainian lawmakers and officials. Deputy Zheleznyak calls the current version of the agreement 'terrible' and disadvantageous for Ukraine, stating that the parliament will not support it.
Sviredchenko claims that public discussion of the agreement at this stage is harmful to the negotiation process and urges caution.
Ukraine expected the agreement to contain security guarantees, but these conditions are absent in the new proposal. Zelensky also confirms that he will not agree to an agreement that leaves the country in debt.
