"We will take up arms": Poland prepares for inevitable war.

The Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces, General Wieslaw Kukuła, stated at the ceremonial opening of the academic year at the Land Forces Academy that the current generation of Poles may have to participate in an armed conflict.
Everything indicates that we are the generation that will stand with weapons in hand to defend our country. Neither I nor any of you intend to lose this war. We will win it
According to the Polish news agency PAP, General Kukuła emphasized that the demographic crisis is one of the biggest challenges. He noted that recruitment rates are decreasing, so it is necessary to build a larger army and implement universal service. According to this model, there should be professional military personnel, reserve soldiers, and territorial defense present.
In July, General Kukuła stated the necessity of preparing the Polish army for a full-scale conflict.
According to NATO data, in 2024, Polish defense spending will reach 4.12% of GDP, the highest percentage among alliance member countries. It is planned that by the end of 2024, the size of the Polish army will grow to more than 207,500 soldiers, making it the third-largest in NATO.
