Mass poisoning from shawarma in Vinnytsia: 25 people in hospitals.


Twenty-five people, including seven children, were poisoned by shawarma in Kalynivka, Vinnytsia region. All victims are in the hospital. This was reported by Andriy Salyuk, deputy head of the State Consumer Service in Vinnytsia region, as reported by the news agency
Suspilne.
The public catering establishment where people likely bought shawarma has ceased operations.
Protocol and Investigation
A protocol was drawn up regarding an administrative offense related to state control over compliance with food legislation. This could lead to a fine of 56 thousand UAH.
The director of the Vinnytsia Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Ihor Matkovskyi, reported that their staff collected samples of products for further analysis. An investigation is underway.
Previously, it was reported that a mass food poisoning occurred among elementary school students in the Turkish province of Diyarbakir. 53 students who returned home after lunch at school fell ill. They were taken to hospitals due to poisoning symptoms.
Also, in the Chernivtsi region, a family was poisoned by mushrooms, resulting in the mother's death.
The incident in Kalynivka is just one of many poisoning situations that have occurred recently. Government structures are actively conducting investigations and monitoring compliance with food quality requirements to prevent similar cases in the future.
