In Cherkasy, there was a prolonged attack by terrorists, resulting in damage to infrastructure. This was reported by the city mayor Anatoliy Bondarenko.

For the safety of residents, the mayor urged to turn off all gas appliances and not to use gas in private houses due to emergency work at one of the gas supply facilities.

'Emergency services are working. We will provide detailed information during the day,' the mayor added.

The head of the regional authority Igor Taburets also addressed the residents of Cherkasy, Khutory, Sloboda, Verhuny, Nechayivka, Geronimivka, and Khatsok with a request to stop using gas due to urgent repair work.

It should be noted that early in the morning on April 28, drones attacked Cherkasy region. An air alert was declared at 7:10 AM, and since then, drones have been constantly appearing around the regional center and other settlements.

Local residents reported the operation of air defense systems and explosions that could be heard over the last two hours. Smoke was also observed in some places.

Attack on Kyiv

It is worth noting that on April 24, Russia carried out an attack on Kyiv using drones and missiles. As a result of this massive strike, at least 12 people were killed, and another 90 were injured, including children. Destruction was recorded in several districts of the capital, including Svyatoshynskyi, Holosiivskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Pecherskyi, and Solomyanskyi.

It should be noted that the enemy launched 70 missiles of various types at Ukraine, as well as 145 strike drones of the Shahed type and imitation drones. In particular, 11 ballistic missiles 'Iskander-M'/KN-23 and six cruise missiles 'Iskander-K' were launched.
