About 80% of bookmaker revenue comes from gambling addicts, - WHO.


80% of the revenue of betting companies comes from individuals suffering from gambling addiction, reports Glavkom, citing WHO expert Charles Livingston.
The expert notes that bookmakers spend millions on advertising to attract new players.
The best clients of bookmakers are those who lose all their money. Therefore, they constantly have to seek new players to replace those who have spent all their money, assets, and connections.
The expert also points out that gambling promotions increase the likelihood that people will start playing them.
The Cabinet of Ministers established a state agency 'PlayCity' that will coordinate and implement state policy in the field of gambling and lotteries.
It is reported that the head of the Gambling and Lottery Regulation Commission, Ivan Rudyi, was detained on suspicion of aiding the aggressor state and illegal drug possession.
NAC also found signs of corruption in Ivan Rudyi's actions.
In August 2024, a bill was passed to create a new state body in the field of gambling. According to this law, the Gambling and Lottery Regulation Commission will cease to exist.
Member of CRAIL Yevhen Yakhni was also detained and suspected of aiding the Russian Federation.
